Report: Samsung Galaxy S8 Will Use Facial Recognition to Authenticate Mobile Payments

Bloomberg reports Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8, will have facial recognition capabilities to verify user’s identity. The technology will primarily be used in mobile payment services such as Samsung Pay to provide users with enhanced security. According to the report, the Galaxy S8 will make combined use of phone’s iris scanner, fingerprint sensor, and facial recognition technology to further strengthen authentication for mobile payments. MultiROM is now available for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, and Mi 4 LTE

MultiROM is a multi-boot mod available for a plethora of devices that allows one to boot Android ROMs as well as other systems all from internal memory. It requires a kernel patch to enable kexec-hardboot, so the mod isn’t available on every device, but support is always expanding as more developers take up the initiative. Now, the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, and Mi 4 LTE have been added to the list of MultiROM-supported devices thanks to XDA Senior Members vasishath and Shahan_mik3.
